Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations of 8-12 retail stores within assigned district, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators including sales, profitability, inventory turns, shrink, and customer satisfaction metrics
  • Conduct regular store visits to assess operations, provide coaching, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure proper store staffing levels, scheduling efficiency, and payroll budget management
  • Maintain store appearance standards, merchandising guidelines, and safety protocols across all locations

Sales & Financial Performance

  • Drive district sales growth and meet/exceed established revenue and profit targets
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve store performance, market share, and customer retention
  • Analyze sales trends, competition, and market conditions to identify growth opportunities
  • Review and approve store budgets, expense management, and capital expenditure requests
  • Partner with corporate teams on promotional campaigns, pricing strategies, and product initiatives

Team Development & Leadership

  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop Store Managers and key personnel across the district
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to store leadership teams
  • Conduct performance evaluations and create development plans for Store Managers
  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and customer service
  • Address employee relations issues and ensure consistent application of company policies
  • Identify and develop high-potential employees for advancement opportunities

Customer Experience

  • Ensure all locations deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high satisfaction scores
  • Address customer escalations and resolve complex issues in a timely, professional manner
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement action plans to improve the customer experience
  • Build relationships with commercial accounts and key customers within the district

Inventory & Product Management

  • Monitor inventory levels, stock-outs, and overstock situations across all locations
  • Ensure proper inventory controls, cycle counting accuracy, and shrink prevention measures
  • Collaborate with supply chain and merchandising teams on product mix and assortment planning
  • Review and optimize store layouts for maximum productivity and sales potential

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered
  • Minimum 5 years of retail management experience, with at least 2 years in multi-unit leadership
  • Automotive aftermarket parts experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and achieving financial targets
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with ability to motivate and inspire teams
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret financial reports and sales data
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with retail management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and reporting tools
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly throughout assigned district (60-70% travel required)
  • Flexibility to work varied hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification
  • Experience with commercial/wholesale automotive parts sales
  • Knowledge of automotive systems, parts applications, and catalog systems
  • Previous experience with AutoZone, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts, or similar retailers
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus in select markets

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and driving
  • Ability to work in varying store environments including stockrooms and warehouses
